So after a painful issue with Gigabyte I'm in need of a new motherboard. I've been re-searching and one of the most suggested was the ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z. My only concern is that it does not include any PCI slots, which I use for my AuzenTech X-Plosion 7.1 Cinema. Is this motherboards integrated audio better or equal to my PCI sound card? I also have two 570's, how good is the space between the PCI-E slots for heat management?

Help is greatly appreciated.

just fyi re ASUS Maximus IV GENE-Z, there's an existing discussion thread here:

and an [H]ard|OCP review here:

Yes, but I open my own discussion cause I have my own doubts on things that are not talked about in there. Making this a specific case I'm looking for more than the normal reply to my concern.

I'm also taking a look at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130611

Do you mean the full size Maximus? The one you are looking at is a mATX board and you can't fit your SLI + sound card on that.

The 570 SLI will block the PCI-e x4 slot is the issue. If he wasn't looking to have a sound card also he would be all set.

Ah.

In that case, if the OP is wanting to go SLI and run a sound card, Im thinking a full ATX board might be the better choice.
