hi evey one i am new here .
am french but i will do my best to explain my problem .
here is my problem i just did build that new computer using the board above .
my drive is a intel 330 sreie 120 gb .
my mobo have 6 - 6 sata3 gbs so why is my drive only running on sata 2 -3 gbs .
but to get the full speed of a sdd drive it has to be on 6 gbs .
i did change it to 6 gbs in the bios but it is still on 3 gbs .
what if i reinstall vista saving all my files but go to bios first and change it to [ahci] then install vista again .

i cant not post the image of wre it show sata 22 -3gbs .
i am not new at building computer i build one every 2 month or so

There have been 8 BIOS releases for that board, have you updated to the latest BIOS and Vista drivers? You should be in AHCI mode. I have seen one or two implementations (not your board) where drives throttled down to SATA300 (or even SATA150) mode if you are in IDE/ATA Emulation mode.

no i never did did update the bios driver .i just did buy the board 2 weeks ago
but i do have the driver dated bios -1100-03/16/2012.so i did check and there is only one after this one .
and i did even not know that i had to update vista driver .never did it before.
and yes i am on [ide]

You can download all the BIOS and driver updates here. You should switch the BIOS to AHCI, reinstall Vista (if you don't have Windows 7 available), and install all the latest drivers from the Asus site after the installation.

sorry .i did type about 20 lines then the power shot off .lost it all .lol .
my bios is ok for now .i have this one now [bios-1100-03/16/2012 ]this is what it show in the bios .
yes i am on [ide].
i did when in the bios before installing vista i did change it to ahci but i never did click on [f-10] to save the change .you see am 68 and it was my first time in a bios .now i know how it work .lol .
no i do not like window 7 .
last fall i did pay about 150.00 it and i sold it for 35 .00 .i hate it .
right now i boot in 34 secs but if i be on 6 gbs i be booting in about 12 to 15 secs .
my computer on a drr2 board bout in 41 secs using a crusial m4 -128 gbs .
so this board shoud be booting about haft of that
i did not check my pc that have a wd velocity rapter 250 gbs how long it take to boot but it be inside 50 secs .

Just because your drive is set to SATA300, doesn't in ANY way mean that it will load in 1/2 the time as a SATA600 drive. In fact, it may shave 2 or 3 seconds if anything.

i thank you for fast reply .
so if it all that trouble to only gain a fews seconds i will let it go then .
but i still going to buy the 2 parts i mention above .
i will gave you the name of them in my next post ok
