So, I got my new system up and running last week. Using a Asus M4A78T-E board, amd x3 720 and corsair ddr3 1600 and finally today i get to oc/tweak it. Got her up to 3.4 stock voltage. Ive been running prime95 to see if its stable.

My question is that under HWmonitor the temp read out for TMPIN0 and TMPIN1 get up to 50c, 40c while running prime95. Does anyone know what these sensors are reading, and if these temp are alright. I googled to find out but all i could uncover is that the sensor may be board temps. One around the pci express slot. My cpu temps only get up to 44c loaded.

Would greatly appreciate any help.

Nevermind, was able to figure it out. TMPIN0 is cpu temp and TMPIN1 is mb temp sensor. So all is good with this board now. I absolutely love it.

I am considering using the 720 and m4a78te with Mushkin ddr3 1600 memory on my new build. So, tell me what do you think of yours? do you like it? How much of an upgrade from your old system was it? What do you use it for? What type of cooler are you using? And finally, what kind of speed are you clocked at?

I love it. Easy to setup, stable, has a ton of oc options in the bios. It was a really nice upgrade from my old x2 5000 BE. I use my pc for gaming, light video editing, web. Even in just web surfing the difference was quite noticeable, vista loads much quicker as well, more responsive. I have a coolermaster hyper tx, which is doing a good job keeping her cool. 44c max. I'm running at 3.4ghz right now at 1.35 vcore. gonna try more this weekend. The only hickup im having is that im having problems running my Corsair at 1600, i get errors in prime95.

I'm really impressed with this asus board, I highly recommend it. I spent about $330 for my cpu,mb, and ram. Well worth the jump in speed for the money. plus it oc's much better than my old X2 5000 BE. Hope that helped. let me know if you have anymore questions.

while i dont have one i sold this board with a X3 710 where i work and i am pleased to see what he has done so far. I think last time he came he was at ~3.4Ghz with his HT up to 263 on stock voltage.

SPCR also has an interesting review of this board showing reduced power consumption over an older AM2+ board. Its a good board with nice layout. +1 in my book :D

One thing to consider with this board:

I have used it for a while (I might have been one of the first to get this board), and I have experienced something that the 'twitch gamers' might notice as well. There seems to be some sort of interface lag when doing games online such as CoD:WaW. I notice this lag more so than with my previous nForce 590a board and the x2 6400 proc, even with the phenom 2 940 running. I looked all over for the reason, and then I did a CPU usage benchmark with the LAN...

As it turns out, this 'Atheros' LAN by itself puts a good 30%+ load on the CPU by itself, compared to other 'on board' NIC chips like the Gigabit, this is high. So I have noticed some 'lag' with online play more so than with other boards. My suggestion would be to get a dedicated hardware NIC (killer NIC perhaps), or make sure you are running the best CPU you can. With the phenom 2 its not too bad, but with the x2 6400, its very noticable.

This 'Atheros L1e' seems to be this boards downfall... Asus was doing some cost cutting... this is obvious. If you dont play online shooters or consider yourself a 'twitch' gamer, then nevermind.
