Asus M4A785G HTPC

looks fine but with the 785 chipset you dont get TrueHD 7.1 via HDMI...... so if that is not a big deal than go for it... otherwise a 46XX series ATI card or a 8200/9200 series Nvidia IGP will work.

for bit-streaming from bluray you need the new 5XXX series ATI card.
 
yeah, i3 is an interesting one....

i personally dont like intel graphics and stay away from them. but some benchmarks look promissing with the ondie GPU
 
I haven't seen anything to suggest that the i3's gpu is anything but perfect for HTPC use, other than some day 1 issues due to third party software being slow to update despite having had the SDK in hand for months already.
Granted pricing is a bit high on the i3's and i5's for most people to put in normal desktops, where AMD still pulls out ahead on the budget front.
