I'm looking into purchasing the Asus K8N4-E mobo (s754 with pci-e). Its using the NF4 chipset. Anyone know if it will have a pci lock? Is the PCI lock dependant on the motherboard or the chipset used or both? Also, anyone know how high the cpu voltage can be set to with an A64? Thanks

the board is great.i ran the asus k8n4e dlx for 6 months, sold it a few weeks ago it overclocked well.not dfi o/clocks but sane clocks.i ran a 2800 and then a 3200 all athlons a64s.i believe the voltage on the cpu was 1.55v.i ran bios 1003,05,05,06,07 and found 1007 to be the most stable for me.i ran the 3200 to2500mhz,1 to 1 with ram.it ran wonderful.only problem i had was getting 2 double sided dimms 512x2 to run without blue screening.i had value select corsair pc3200.finally had to set the ram cas from 2.5 to 3.0 and all problems gone.tou can only run 2 sticks at 3200,3 sticks default to 333.safest way to be sure is to run 1 single 1 gig stick as 2 512s can be picky.just depends on the ram.ck the manual to bee sure if your running 2 double sided sticks.i ran 1 512 double side stick and a single side 256 stick for a while =768 till i figured out what it would take to run 2 d/sided sticks.i would have bought a different brand but i was saving up for my 939 system. and all i had was corsair value select.if i had it to do over id buy a single 1 gig stick of corsair.i called corsair and asked tech support about it and they also said it should run but if not try another brand or go with a 1 gig stick..........good lick with your new adventure.
