Hi there.
A while ago I built a new computer using the K8N4-E mobo. When it came to connecting the front panel audio I cam across a problem. When I removed the jumpers in order to connect my case's FP Audio and connected everything up, I found that I got no sound through my mobo's onboard sound, only through the FP Audio, as if my mobo was constantly detecting headphones. I dismissed this as a poor case design as the case was very cheap.....
Recently though I bought a new case (ammo 533). This case said in the manual that it supports Intel HD Audio. My mobo said that a HD front panel is recomended. Yay I thought!. The case also had grouped AC?97 audio.
I set about building my case and got to the front panel audio connection, initialy connecting the Intel HD. When I booted the comp, no sound was found through either the mobo or FP Audio. The connection auto sensing software that came with my mobo detected input errors with all my speaker and headphone connections.
So I dismantled my case again and connected the AC?97 audio. This time I got normal real panel sound, but I'm not getting any front panel sound.
Here is the mobo FP Audio pin configuration. The blue pins were the ones originally with jumpers over them:
This is the AC?97 socket configuration on my case:
And this is the Intel HD socket config (which I'm pretty sure doesn't work):
Any help will be greatly recieved.
