asus k8n mobo/ethernet issue

[Wigglesworth]

ive been trying to update the ethernet drivers for my asus k8n motherboard and when i try to install new drivers my comp crashes and restarts. i formatted my hd and reinstalled windows hoping this would fix the problem, but no dice. on itunes i can see and listen to others' music on my network but i cant access any sites or do anything else. is this a permanent problem or something i can fix?

also. after trying a bunch of crap, changing my mac address also makes my comp crash.
