Asus G75 Bluray drive

I purchased a new bluray drive to replace my dvd drive on my G75 Laptop. Everything works great, but the light doesn't flash at all. It was a new drive sealed in the package... as far as I could tell.

Anyone know a way of fixing it to make it work? It kinda bugs me that it's not 100% working like it should.
