yea smth for me since im looking for a good gaming laptop, but still cant really decide sicne ive never been into laptops
my choices right now are
g1
g1s
g2s
any suggestions?

Ranger, it is highly debatable whether or not purchasing the C90's is worth the reduction in price.

As for a getting a gaming laptop it really depends on what your preferences are. I am currently typing on my new ASUS G1S, and couldn't be happier. Games play fluidly, but the mentionable drawbacks include a small monitor. If you can survive gaming on a small screen, then I say definitely go for the G1S, as it has nearly identical features to the G2S. If you must have the larger screen for gaming, then go with the G2S.

All in all, I would really only see the screen size really coming into play with FPS games, and even then you can dock the laptop into a larger monitor at home.

For me, I need something that I can take to class and work practically, 17" was just to big and the 15" is amazing. I am definitely satisfied with my new purchase, and if you can live without the 17" while going mobile I would say definitely go for the G1S. Plus with the extra couple hundred you save on the 15" you could buy a pretty sweet monitor to dock into!

so after a more deep seaching im still trying to decide on whether i should go with g1s or wait for c90s since it will be better than g1s and for the same price, the only thing is that there is no info about the release date of c90s

G2S has a T7500V or T7700V w/ 800 FSB and 8600M GT 256MB VRAM

C90S E6300-X6800 (I might be wrong, but Q6600 or QX6700) w/ 1066 FSB and 8600M GT 512MB VRAM

Admittedly the C90S will have a sucky battery life, but who is gonna use the battery! Not to mention both support MXM 2.0 so when the higher end mobile 8 series come out you'll be ready for it. And the C90S is cheaper on avrage then the G2S, so debate on. Both are great and almost fully customizeble.

c90s will not be able to use quad core cpu but the c90p will (dont know when it will be release though) and the g1/2s is not as much customizable as c90s
the battery life will probably be about an 1.5 maybe 2 hours but with the 6cell battery we cant expect too much, but still when playing just have to plug it in and there is no worries about the battery

I am waiting for the VXS2 to come out if it ever does.

Hopefully somehow I can convince my dad to let me get(I think I would be paying for it) a laptop for college. But I dont think he will because I just built a $3500 desktop for gaming and I either would:
A.Have to sell my desktop
or
B. Not get a laptop

Hopefully I can convince him somehow to let me get a laptop cus my efforts thus far have been futile.

I just ordered my C90S, the guy I talked to didn't now an exact date but said he hopes the end of the week. I got a frigg'n E6700 in my Notebook and am ordering the 8700M GT as soon as its released..if not the 8800M GS, but I still don't know when thats gonna be released.

nice, could you tell me where you order it from and who youve talked to about it? i really want the c90s but idk if i can wait for it so i just wanna make sure if its coming out in the next couple days

I picked mine up from here, they have a live chat feature on there website (very helpful fellow).

http://www.btotech.com/store/products/laptops/asus.htm *sorry had given the wrong link*

The irony is that I found that link when I went over some old threads, one of which was regarding a good gaming Notebook under $2k and I wanted to get a barebone this time since I had build a couple at work over the last month and found it to be fun. The C90S is suppose to be the first really intended to be upgraded Notebook w/ easy to access MXM 2.0 video card (which rocks, if you got to go to the show where they actually took one apart infront of your eyes). I didn't know about the C90P which has Quad Core support or I would have ordered it instead, but with no release date in sight I'll stick with the C90S and the E6700. Also a little disappointed that the 8700M is out (due June/July) or the 8800M (due out end summer/start fall). I also only got it with 2GB RAM since DDR2 is dropping in price like a rock and I can propably get 4GB for the price it would of cost for 3GB.

The C90s have started to ship this week, according to users @ Notebookreview that had them pre-ordered.
