I got a V9950 card installed in my p4c800-e and upon booting there are Vertical lines going through the POST screen. When it does boot into windows Xp the Vertical lines are still there and system moves slowly. I took the card out put back in my ti 4400 all these problems go away.

ANy ideas or is it just a bad card :(

Before you took out the card you deleted the drivers for it ? Then shut down changed the cards started back up and installed fresh drivers right ?
If you did not do that way that could be your problem. You need to not only uninstall the drivers but your a cleaner on them.

With a 800MKz CPU are you on XP ? If not then you have to changed the drivers a little different than in XP I think. It would be best for you to find a good online guide on how to do it just right.

here is a easy to follow one for you.

Others are out there and might be easier for you. But at least maybe this will help you out some.

I did not remove the old driver . I will try that now , I heard and have read that not doing that could cause issues. The reason I thought this was not the case is it happens on the POST screen where I get the ASUS splash screen and if I enter the Bios it's there also. That lead me to belive it didnt have to do with the xp drivers. Is my thinking wrong ?

Thanks in advance

Ok I used driver cleaner 3 and still have the same issue expect now xp doesn't run slow. I do still have the Vertical lines during post and in windows any other ideas

Thanks in advance
