ASUS Eee PC Touch Screen Mod

Man I wish I could see one in person before buying one. I really want to want the machine, but not sure how I'll like the small screen. A 10" lcd would instantly sell me.

Small screen is my only gripe, if it was 10+ I'd be in line to buy one. Very nice mod.

my gf has an eee pc

They are awesome!
My only problem is not one of screen size but of resolution, I think the screen is 800x480 which makes windows very ugly on it since you have to slide up and down to get a full view of pretty much everything. I hope in Ver. 2.0 they increase the screen resolution to at least 800x600. The second they do that I'm buying one for myself

I am on my eee right now typing this. And I am running a screen res of 1024x768 All of you that were worried about the low res. There is a guy who used the intel driver config to get up to 1280x1024 onto the 7 inch screen... 1280x1024 is REALLY small.. but anyhow... Here is a link. http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=5510

The screen is a lot smaller than the lid. I think they could have gotten a 9" screen in there. They might have to move the camera.

its scaled so everything is squished. but you can just increase font DPI and its very usable. doesn't make the LCD run out of its range too. i had to install the driver to be able to play Starcraft in fullscreen...otherwise if it runs in 640x480, it just sticks it on one side of the screen with a black bar filling the rest up. there is currently a standby problem with the driver as the screen wont come back on, but once he fixes it, i'll be installing that driver. EeePC is a modders dream for some reason. i've never seen so much modding done to a laptop before but i suppose thats because its not your usual laptop. people have even gone as far as taking apart flash drives making extra internal storage with solder skills :). i'm happy with my 8GB SDHC card though. maybe when the 16gb ones come down in price i'll pick one up.
