ASUS EAX1600XT Silent Inverted?

Has anyone mounted the ASUS EAX1600XT Silent in an inverted case (Lian Li)? I've gone through 2 video cards now and 1 aftermarket HSF and I am not happy with the noise level.

Advice please. I'm just going to have to find a passively cooled card now. I'm not a regular gamer, but I'm considering starting on WOW in the near future.
 
Not inverted, but I am running that card "sideways" (up and down) in a Shuttle XPC. Decent core overclock, too - 670mhz for 24/7 and it benchmarks up to 685. WAY higher than any of the fan-cooled versions of the card I've seen. Indeed, I'm at #2 in the 3dMark2006 ORB with a single X1600XT, and you can bet #1 is a watercooled job.

I'm guessing since it's passive, that Asus "hand picks" the cores for maximum stability.
