I'd like to grab an Asus EAH6870 DC/2DI2S/1GD5 (this card to be exact) video card; however, the specifications list the length at 11" long. That would be .25" too long to fit my storm scout case, but I have noticed that the plastic heat shroud extends out nearly an inch past the actual board and heatsinc on the card according to reviews/photos.

My question would be is the manufacturer's measurement including the shroud or just the board?

If the measurement includes the shroud, then in theory I could trim it slightly to make it fit...

if you modify it, it may avoid your warranty. I would try to find something smaller if they don't fit in your case.
