Asus Crosshair Onboard Audio compared to X-Fi?

I am about to set up my new rig with an Asus Crosshair board and I am wondering if anyone has one and is using the onboard audio? How do you like it? Is it comparable to an X-Fi?

Has anyone seen any links to a comparison between this onboard option and an X-fi?

a Onboard audio chip wil NOT be anywhere near the quality of a decent add in card such as the X-fi or others.

I have the ASUS Striker Extreme with the same onboard audio as the Crosshair. I really needed the PCI slot for my wireless N card and TV Tuner so I opted for the onboard audio -

I quickly changed my mind and re-installed my X-Fi Gamer Fatal1ty Pro after 1 hour of listening to onboard audio.

Go with the X-Fi - you wont be disappointed! In fact I will give my PCIe x1 audio daughter-board to anyone that can use it as I don't see any use for it in my future!
