Hi,

Would like some advice frm the guru's here, i just switch to an asus commando board with the silly supremefx/dts thats does not support dolby digital, n the speakers im using is the klipsch gmx d 5.1 whihc only supports dolby digital and no dts, im thinking of getting an x-fi elite pro or x-meridian as they hv optical outs n supports both DD n dts, my question is, if i were to go ahead wouldnt the processing of the signal be done twice, once on the the sound card n the 2nd time on the klispch console, or shud i just ditch klipsch speakers or is there a workaround....any advice wud be appreciated......thx in advance.
 
X-Fi Elite Pro doesn't support DD output if you want to use digital connnection.
 
It can decode dolby digital ex signal from DVD, movies and etc to its analogue output but it can't encode a surround sound to DD signal for its digital output.
