asus card software issues

i just installed an asus x850xt pe AGP and after trying catalyst 5.11 or the latest driver from asus with asus enhanced driver i have some problems.
1. catalyst control center doesnt come up. i get an error message that says "you do not have permission to change Catalyst control settings. Consult youd administrator etc. etc."
thats not a big problem for me but i wonder if its the control center software or something else
2. when i run smartdoctor i only get the clock speed interface, no temps no fan speed

should i consider ati tools as an alternative? (never used it before)
i posted here because maybe it is an asus issue and ati
 
Do you have .net installed? Otherwise you may wish to reinstall the drivers, using DriverCleaner to remove anything in there.

ATiTooks isn't a bad idea anyway, it gives more overclocking options for the X8xx cards.

you mean .net framework? yes i'm up to date with windows updates

ill reinstall cat 5.11 minus control center and give ati tools a shot
