Asus AX 800XT Overheating...

Hello everyone. This is my first post in the forums and i would like to have your help.

My 3dmark 2005 scores have dropped recently (from 5900 to 5600) and i am trying to fiqure out what is wrong.Also i noticed thet my video card gets unusually hot. The ram on the card are literlly frying when running a 3dmark. I can barely keep my finger on them for 2-3 sec. This was not happening before. The ram used to get hot in 3d apps but now they get extremely hot! I think it might be a bios setting but i am not sure. My system is not overclocked at all and i have the latest catalyst drivers, and latest motherboard drivers. I think this unusual rise in temperature can be relevant to the performance drop. I have ATI tool 0.23 installed an the gpu temp goes up to 76 degrees celcius when the 3d image of the rotating cube is shown. In the bios i have agp apperture setting to 256mb, the agp voltage to 1,5v, and agp frequency to auto
Any opinions are welcomed

My system:

CPU: AMD Athlon FX-55

RAM:Corsair 2x512 XMS3200XLPRO 2-2-2-5 timings

Motherboard: Asus A8v deluxe rev2.0

Graphics Card: Asus AX800XT (platinum edition)
 
Do you have a well-ventilated case? That's a very decent and good video card you got there, but the overheating problem is probably caused by either: overclocking, bad case ventilation, thermal paste/pads are bad, or a capacitor was bent or something, lol. Plus the popular BIOS setting for 256mb video cards are set at 128, it just works better for some reason.
