While browsing numerous of sites, newgg/bestbuy/tigerdirect I come to the conclusion that Acer and Asus are among the cheapest laptops but are their durable? Are they're worth $400, even if it's a refurbished or open box one?
For an example:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115674
and
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5636849&Sku=S445-140011 (Intel Core 2 Solo ULV ?)
Plan on getting two. (My brother and I) system will be used for daily use in documents (Office, Outlook) and Web design (no 3D, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Lightroom) and Internet.
Worth it or is it one of those situations where I can dish out an extra $100-150 to avoid long term issues as replacing ram, batteries, or sending it back?
