so i built up my new rig
asus 18v, 3400+, ultra x-connect, lite on dvd burner, 512mb stick of mem, and my good old 9600se
i hooked it all up and i got no video, only bitching betty saying "system failed due to cpu error" so i said screw it and rma'd the board and cpu to newegg, but when i put together my old system again i had no video, so a quick run to walmart for their cheapest card, and it didnt work, i wiggled it around and got video for like 3 seconds, so i know everything works fine, is it a problem with the card or the board???? i returned the card to walmart, now im just wondering if anyone has had a problem with graphics on a soyo kt400 dragon, or ever the new a8v
 
well problem # 1 is that the 3400+ is pin set 754 and the A8V is 939.... so you definately screwed that part up....

ok now onto # 2...

AGP card? do you see post screens? can you try the vid card/s in a different computer? check monitor on a diff computer?

There are some 64 3400+ that are 939's. I know cause I own one.

I havent seen it anywhere.....can you show me a screenshot of your chip in CPU-Z?

umm....i dont think they make a 3400 socket 939, unless it like just came out...there is nothing on newegg .....just s754.

Justrise : easy way to tell is that there are only 4 blocked pins on a 939.....754 has a hole in the center where they are no pins......939 is completely covered in pins, middle and outside. Im thinking its a mistype there and you mean a 3500+ or 3200+.....If so then clear CMOS and unplug everything in your case cept for the few things you need at first boot up.
 
its a 939, and i dont know if it is revision 2 of the board, i bought the board in december, and bought the chip last week, i took the comp to a store, and they threw another vid card in there but noithing worked.....

HAHAHA, again i could be wrong, but your sure you own a 3400+ 939?
