To begin here are the systems specs (currently my HTPC)

Asus A8N5X skt 939 bios 1003
AMD 4200+ non-oc'ed
Diamond radeon HD 2600
2gigs ddr 400 gskill ram
400 Gb western digital hard drive
windows media center

the other day in I changed out the stock HS fan combo fora silverston nitrogon with an antec 120mm fan, to quiet the system down a bit. Well the install went well, the HS barely fit in the lian li v600 case the system is in. When I went to boot up the weirdest thing happened. The system would not post and the fans all ran at max settings (loud as hell). So I cleared the CMOS and the system posts and says there is a checksum error, I press F1 and the system boots up.

Well, thinking everything is fine I re-boot to set the bios date and time to the correct settings, and the computer will not boot. I get the same black screen and fans spinning fast. So I reset the cmos again and then try to set the bios up to the correct time and date. Go to re-boot and the same thing happens again, so after multiple times of clearing the cmos and then re-flashing the bios, nothing has fixed the problem. I'm at a loss, the kaspersky antivirus disabled itself saying that the install key date is incorrect.

So has this happened to anyone else? Should I just toss the MB and upgrade to something new? Please help!

Thank you in advance.

Great now my copy of windows says it needs to be activated before i can log on. WTF it has already been activated, this whole computer is acting stupid. I replaced teh cmos battery with a new one, and re flashed the bios to no avail. I am stumped.
