I have 2 of the 150Gb WD Raptor drives and one 500Gb WD drive
I am planning on using the raptors in a RAID-0 config and th 500gb drive as my "D:/" drive.
well, in the BIOS, I enabled the nVidia RAID Function as well as the SATA1 Controller and SATA 2 Controller. I had setup the 2 raptors in there as a RAID-0 and it sees it there, however, whenever i try to load WinXP, it only sees the 500GB drive, and i also can't access the F4 part during startup which is one of the RAID controller BIOS's I think.
I remeber getting to some screen, which had Set Boot but it was greyed out. HELP!!
Thanks.

i personally think if you can't figure this issue out on your own you shouldn't be fooling with raid.

wow, i kind of feel bad no one else has responded to your thread...

what is the purpose of your computer? simply gaming or are you going to be doing more multimedia intensive tasks?

if it's mostly gaming, if you kept the raptors seperate it would be faster for you to keep all your games on the 2nd drive and windows/applications/swap file on you main drive.

try installing without the 500gb drive hooked up. put the raptors on the NVRaid and make sure it is enabled. make sure you hit F6 when installing XP and have a floppy with the NVRaid drivers handy. once you have windows installed you can add the 500gb drive to the other raid controlled sata (or the external one on the back of that mobo)

OMG, someone figured it out. how in the hell...

also sata 1 controller is for ports 1 & 2(which u should have the raptors hooked up.
disable raid on the sata 2 controller.

you could also hook the 500gb drive up to the highpoint controller. its the sata port towards the back of the board all by itself...

Ok here goes a step by step on setting up raid 0 on A8N32SLI Deluxe
Bios
Enable NVRAID
Turn on Raid for SATA1 and SATA2
Save config and reboot
After intial post you will see and option to hit F10
Once in F10, Nvidia configure screen, Move your hard drives from the left box area to the right box arean and make sure you change it to stripping in the upper left hand corner of the controller.
Select clear disk
exit Nvidia set up program.
Insert you windows xp disc in your cd rom and the diskette with your NVRAID drivers in your floppy drive. Your setup cd that comes with your motherboard with have a utilites tab for making a NVRAID driver floppy but you need to be able to create it on an already set up and running computer.
Press F6 when windows is installing and you see it listed at the bottom of the screen.
Make sure you load both drivers
Then windows Xp will show you your RAID and a your 500gb disk and you can then install windows xp
After windows installs its initial data and reboots, reenter bios and under the boot up tab go to hard drives. Make sure your raid is number 1 then your other sata drive is number 2
go to boot options and make sure your raid is listed number 1 there and your cdrom number 2. disable a 3rd boot device.

Now before doing any of the above go to this addy
http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/...3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1
This gives you visual and step by step setting up NVRAID and also gives you a link to download the latest drivers. The bios pages they show are not the same for the ASUS board. The part you need to look at is the pictures of the NVRAID utility that you access by hitting F10
As for disconnecting the 500G drive your don't have too. When I set my RAID up I had both of my 74.5 raptors and my 150G sata drive all hooked up. Just make sure you have your 500G drive in the SATA3 port and the SATA 3 port set to SATA and not RAID

Thanks alot guys! I did have a few problems after messing around with it last night. I did try and create the raid driver floppy disk from the cd that came with the motherboard. However, i ended up having a problem with it seeing the nvraid.sys file off of the floppy, even when making a new floppy. So after pressing "Escape" a few time, i got the BSOD after reboot. Started to get really frustrated then.
So I looked online for that problem when I was recommended to just integrate the nvidia raid drivers into the OS using nLite. I've used it before so I went ahead and had the program just point to the drivers on the CD and then burned the new image. I tried it out, and i'll be damn, it worked! recognized the raid setup! The only problem was that it did not see my 500Gb drive now, during the OS setup where you could format your drives nor afterwards when the OS was finished being installed. It did see it when i installed the Nvidia raid software, but just not in My Computer nor in Disk Management. So right now I just need to figure out how to get my 500Gb drive visible and i'm all set!
