ASUS A8N SLI Trying to Eject HDD

Hi,

I recently built a new system around the A8N SLI. It's bee a great board so far but one thing that really bugs me about it is that I always have the eject hardware icon in my system tray which shows my hard drive that windows is installed on! If you try and eject the hardware obviously it doesnt work, so why is it there? My configuration is a single 74 gig raptor on the nvidia sata port. The Silicon Image sata controller is disabled in bios.

Anyone else have this happen where the system tray shows your hard drive as an ejectable piece of hardware? How do you get rid of it?

This is a known issue common to all NForce4 chipsets (I believe). I avoid it by just not installing the NForce4 IDE drivers and using the default ones from Microsoft instead. Performance does not suffer if you choose not to use the NVIDIA drivers.

Yes, no need to install the nvidia ide drivers.
