I've been using this board for around a year and never had any problems what so ever. Recently when I turn in machine on while at bios it will say the error "system failed due to CPU over-clocking, Computer now booting from operating system." The strange thing is, it does this very sporadically and even when it does, it will boot into the OS and all is fine. It's never been overclocked and no bios settings have been changed at all. I am totally stumped! Just wondering if anyone else has seen this or might have some ideas for me? I would be much appreciative.

Thanks,
Scott

Well I haven't had that issue. But from what I understand ASUS boards with speech posting can give the "system failed due to cpu-overclocking" during boot if the bios is reset to default settings. The bios is usually automatically reset if the system reboots due to hardware failure. If this does not happen because of random reboots I would recommend checking your cmos battery.

I have had this issue, and just recently. I did replace the battery with a new one and it still happened. I too had the board running at stock speeds. When I did check the BIOS, nothing had changed from the original stock settings. I just save & reboot. No problem from there. It is weird though.
