i was wondering how many of you guys decided on going with asus video cards and how is the performance for you guys?

I'm using an Asus 5870 from launch that has been perfect. It's a great overclocker too, I'm currently at over 20% on the core. Hell, half my PC is from Asus, and I've been perfectly happy with all their products.

ive had mine for about a week and i like it. no issues. i left it stock so im not sure about oc'ing but ive heard good things about it.

I will share this story with you all and take it for what its worth...

When i stepped into the ati arena for the first time since the radeon 64 ;) which i had to RMA 4 times , I've been Nvidia ever since... I decided to try out the 5970 from XFX, (Black Edition)

Now... I swear to [H] i had this card for a little over a month and if i spent 50 hours gaming i actually played a total of 30 mins... I spent more time trouble shooting this piece of shit then doing anything else... random lockups, 15 min game play then lock, never had 2d issues only 3...no drivers worked - i then switch it to water cooling thinking it was getting to hot.

core 95c Vmr's 120c

after water cooling - core = 26c vrm's 80c (all are load temps)

Still same issue lock ups lock ups lock ups. ( you couldn't even touch the fan speed would cause an instant lockup)

after fighting with XFX for weeks ( which they reply to there support tickets ever 4 days )
Blaming it on ATI's drivers... i gave up and removed the card and put my GTX 295 back in.... I see on newegg the asus was in stock one morning before work...very nervous i bought it thinking lets try one more time...

WOW is all i have to say... Now im not knocking XFX it could have been just a bad card, but i do knock the RMA support.. They are by far the worst i have ever dealt with..

The asus card worked no matter what 9.12 - 10.1 -10.2 even installing drivers over drivers , i could take a dump on it it still works, i haven locked , crashed, not even the great display driver has stopped work message i was getting accustom to. is it really ASUS or just got lucky with a working card, i dont know but i stick with what works... I have a second asus on the way for x fire... anyone wanna play with a broken XFX BE lol they wont RMA it.... For your laughing pleasure heres XFX support ticket' first and last post:

[ 1/12/2010 4:44:05 PM] After flashing the bios so the fan control can work on the card, card locks up if you move the fan speed at all, must then uninstall -reinstall ati drivers...stock fan runs 30% card is very hot during gaming 95c...weird colored boxes start fading onto the screen card gets unstable then locks up

[ 2/19/2010 2:19:27 PM] your support is the worst i ever dealt with...THANK GOD my 2nd 5970 is an ASUS and runs perfect.... I had this XFX card for a little over a month and if i spent 50 hours on my PC this month i spent 49 Hours trouble shooting this piece of shit.

notice the dates, still with no resolve: :(

my asus 5850 has been rockin right along no matter what drivers i use. another cool thing is i can overclock it up to the 5870 with out any voltage added.(850-1200).

my last card was an xfx 4890 which works fine.it seemed to get better with newer drivers. but i decided it was was first and last xfx ati card. i think that company cheaps out to much. its going to rma soon.i'll just keep it around for a spare,or let my wife use it to play farmville, lol.

i'm glad to see everyone is having a good experience with asus cards.i can't find one bad thing about mine. hope we hear from others with asus cards. thx for posting
