Hey everyone. I'm currently building a new machine, and have assembled all necessary hardware plus some accessories. I have a few concerns about the compatibility of the parts I have chosen and was wondering if someone could confirm.

The inventory can be found at Newegg:

The question I have is:
a) Will the power supply listed power the SATA HD as well as the Video Card? There was some discussion about 20 or 24 pin connectors, but no information on the product pages for the power supply, motherboard, or video card indicate which are used.

Thanks!

It looks like it will work. Your video card comes with cables to turn Molex into the PCI-E adapter so you should be fine. Also, almost every motherboard I've seen comes with a molex to SATA power adapter, so you should be fine there too (although that PSU probably has SATA connectors). Good luck with the build.

If you haven't already ordered I would ditch the Rosewill power supply. I would also change the cable to one that is 18" long, since that is the limit for Ultra DMA performance.

What is your motivation for recommending I lose the PSU? Poor quality, or do you mean it will not power all the listed HW?

Can you recommend an alternative in any case?

Namely, how can I tell if the PSU has a 6-pin connector, or if my video card requires it? Do PCI-Express cards require special power connections? Will I need to buy an adapter?

I would definitely read the sticky in the Power Supply forum. If you are going to build a machine of this caliber, then the last thing that you want to skimp on is the PSU, because if it fails, all of the components are at risk. If this were to happen you would be pretty angry in knowing that you could have possibly prevented it by spending an extra $20.

your pci express card will come with an adapter.
