I have an idea, how about rebuilding the game from scratch? :D

We can tell you that we have detected a distinct discrepancy between what we observed in the pre-launch versus post-launch environment. In spite of our testing, it looks like the instruction queue is becoming overloaded and impacting performance. We have several fixes we are exploring right now and will continue to update you with our progress of what is working and how quickly we can implement these fixes in the game in the weeks ahead.

Is this the one where you wear a hood, jump on rooftops, and own a wristblade.

Works fine for me on xbone..will pick up pc version next year on sale.and pick up a 970 to run it of course.

So what ubi$oft is saying is nobody in their testing department had performance issues?

Wow, that's amazing! Even going beyond DX specs!

Especially since the only API which can handle the drawcall load would be Mantle.

Wonder what will be downscaled...

Translation: We never ran a compiled version of the game on user hardware. Cuz', you know... why?

Ubisoft PR often lies, boldfaced; not even telling half-truths, lies. The most likely explanation is they didn't budget enough time for optimization or maybe were counting on the console specs being higher than they were when they were designing it, then didn't have enough to fix things before management said it had to ship.

So now we get a skeleton crew to try and fix the game and make it fit for release weeks after the fact.

Ubi$oft lie? Mais Non! :p

The specs for these consoles have been known to developers for a very long time... EVEN if this were a title at the Console Launch the specs were clearly known.

LoL... Can only imagine if this were to have been a launch title... Now THAT would have sunk the consoles in one shot!

Maybe if they spent some of that marketing budget on testing and QA this could have been known before launch. It's hard to believe anything that comes from Ubisoft's PR department, though.

LOL

What a joke. Its sad that we live in the day in age where people will pay for incomplete products.

I'm glad I grew up when I did.

"You don't get paid, until your work is finished!"

Now, get off my lawn!

I have 2 Gigabyte 970's and it runs shockingly awesome! Great game. Better than Far Cry 3 in my opinion!

do you mean far cry 4 is better than far cry 3?

if you're talking about AC:Unity, I don't understand the comparison to FC3

Look on the bright side, at least there isn't any micro transactions in the game that people need to worry about.

You know what the sad part is? The game is actually really fun. I have a blast playing coop with my cousin but the performance drops are fucking horrible. Cut the NPC density by half please, the parts of the game where the crowd is light is much more enjoyable.

Yes 4 is better than 3 in my opinion. Both are awesome. AC:Unity I just added because it does not suck it is awesome and both were released close together. I got them both free with the promotion by purchasing 2 970's. If you can afford 2 970's DO IT NOW.

15821 in Fire Strike verified. Both games, actually all my games are butter smooth fully equipped.

this is a pretty good endorsement. FC3 was a great game, IMHO.

I was waiting to see if there were any glitches on day 1 before I purchased FC4. Perhaps I'll bite this weekend.

There are. There's hitching associated with overloading a single cpu core to 100% while not using others past 5-15% It's a bullshit bug to even exist tbh.

Probably the best thing to do is to get rid of the Ultra settings, change what's currently listed as High to Ultra, and then make further changes to the lower settings. It's really just too much for even a fast computer to run since it was made for next generation consoles instead of the PS3/360. Anandtech just did a performance review on it and showed how badly even 980-equipped PCs run it. Pretty much anything over 1080 isn't fluid on current Ultra settings. Computers just aren't powerful enough yet and Ubisoft was too optimistic about the developmental pace of PC hardware. They probably expected computers to have caught up by now and they just didn't mange to in time.
