Recently due to the on coming change of seasons I decided to replace some of my older (one of them was from 2005) case fans and finally configure my computer to not run them at full speed when the computer sits idle. I have a asrocks 970 extreme 3 motherboard that uses the AXTU (Asrocks extreme tuning utility) to control the uefi while booted to windows.
Before I "set it and forget it" and the heat of the summer months rolls in, I want to make sure I have configured it correctly. Unfortunately I can't find much detail about how the settings of "fan target speed" and "target temperature" work in relation to each other.

Would it be correct to assume that the uefi will speed up the fans if the target temperature is exceeded?
