Hi,

I have 4 Samsung SSD's in RAID 10 on the LSI controller. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate, and it goes to boot the first time, and then I get a blue screen of death. I tried taking the drives out of RAID10 and did a test install of windows 7 and it still fails on the initial boot after the installation.

When I tested and loaded another drive on the Intel controller, Windows installed and booted fine.

That makes me think the issue is with the LSI SAS2308 controller.

Any suggestions? One of the main reasons I bought this motherboard was to have a build in RAID controller so it wouldn't affect CPU performance like the Intel one does.

Is there a particular reason you have 4 drives in RAID 10 as your boot drive?

I only ask since there may be a more efficient/better way to achieve what you are aiming for.

The issue could be with the raid controller and being a boot drive. Some RAID setups are a bit finicky as boot drives.

Also, the obligatory RAID != backup :p

Did you give windows drivers during install, or let it connect to search them on the web ? BSOD at that stage is typically a storage driver problem.
