I just got my Asrock 870 Extreme 3 mobo and didnt pay attention to the 8 pin power supply requirement at the processor. I have an older PC Power and Cooling 510 Sli that has a 4 pin plug. The mobo says it can use either the 4 pin or the 8 pin? Is there a performance loss for using the 4 pin or should I order a 4 pin to 8 pin adapter?

Thanks in advance for the information,

Matt

well what CPU do you have ?

If its a 125 or 140w chip, then yes you would like to have the 8 pin, and it will be a necessity
