I am using a form list menu for about 30 urls on my page. What does the action of my form have to be in order to open the site based on the value of the list/menu item selected?

Thanks

this sounds more like a Javascript than an ASP question..

could you go into a little more detail about what you need to do? Do you want to go to a new site as soon as the user makes a selection? or do you want them to make a selection, maybe with some additional form info, submit the form, then go to another site?

first of all your HTML is fubar'd.

but, if this was PHP, you could have something as simple as...

(calling page)
<form action="redirect.php" method="post">
<select name="page">
... blah ...
</select>
</form>

(redirect.php)
<? header("Location: " . $_POST["page"]); ?>

I assume ASP has a header() output function similiar.

OK in ASP

Your HTML page would have
Code:
<form name="frmName" action="redirect.asp" method="post">
<select name="location">
<option value="http://location1.htm">Location 1</option>
<option value="http://location2.htm">Location 2</option>
.
.
</select>
<input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" />
</form>

then redirect.asp woudl look something like
Code:
<%
 location = Request.Form("location")

if (location = "") then
Response.Write ("No location given")
else
Response.Redirect location
end if
%>
