I'm currently using an old SBLive! 5.1 via 3 analog plugs that sort of up convert stereo MP3s to 5.1. Like I said.. sortof.
Long story short? I have a ground loop I'm attempting to eliminate. I want a sound card that will do the same thing as the SBLive! 5.1, except via digital optical cable. I purchased from NewEgg the Auzentech X-Plosion 7.1 sound card. It has EXCELLENT sound. Except it doesn't output to the subwoofer, except for streams that already include LFE signals. I'm awaiting a response from Auzentech for a fix for this, but I keep finding hints that it simply isn't capable of it. If it isn't, the card goes back to NewEgg.
So here's my question to you, my fellow technofreaks
, what card do you recommend that does good multichannel output via digital optical cable, that also upconverts stereo to 5.1/7.1 INCLUDING subwoofer (thus the .1, which Auzentech doesn't seem to understand at the moment...)
Maybe I'm asking too much? Probably. But I figure it's worth a shot to ask.
Thanks all.
