Hi everyone,

As you can see am new to this forum ,what brings me here was firstly reviews and secondly the photo galleries of all those superb water-cooling rig .

My case is still on pre-order and i don't know when it will be ship but anyway i want and i NEED the case to be water-cooled :D . I found the system that corsair made extremely attractive . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cn7lMu9rh9A&feature=player_detailpage#t=237s

So i found the list of the components that Corsair used ( below ) , but i want to add a Bay Res to it and convert the setup to a single-loop with :

2 x 480 rads
2 x Top
1 x Bay res
1 x Res

The way you've formatted it makes it extremely difficult to follow. I also don't want to open up a new link to see what specific part it is. Can you list the components you have chosen?

What's your question? Just looking for approval of your parts selection?

  • What fans do you plan on using and at what speed do you plan to run them?
  • You really don't need anywhere near that much rad capacity.
  • Personally, I wouldn't touch anything EK-branded (ethics issue).
  • Mobo water cooling isn't necessary FYI
  • Why dual reservoirs?
  • My personal preference would be for a single dual-pump top rather than two completely separate pumps and tops.
  • I'd recommend tubing with 1/8" walls (3/8" ID, 5/8" OD or 1/2" ID 3/4" OD).

Non-water cooling related:
  • Why tri-SLI 670s? Multi-GPU systems tend to scale very poorly beyond just two cards even with multi-monitor setups. I feel you'd be better off with (2) 680s or even (2) 670s - either option would save you some money, too.
  • Keep in mind that the new Haswell chips are due out in just a couple weeks or so...

What's your question?

Good question.

You really don't need anywhere near that much rad capacity.

With a 900d the usual though is "why not"

Personally, I wouldn't touch anything EK-branded (ethics issue).

Also Koolance.

Mobo water cooling isn't necessary FYI
Why tri-SLI
Looks cool

Overall I think he wants this:

Ediiiit: Don't go black bitspower. I did. It is boring.
Go with red or white or some shiz

There's no reason not to go overboard with rads if you have the ambition and financial means to do so. It's more fun that way.

Either way, it's best to draw a diagram, however crude, to see what sort of angled/rotary fittings you will need.

I want my Case to look like this

900dside1280x1024.png

But the image i posted is a dual-loop , with 2 x res , 4 x rads , 3 x GPU and MoBo cooling.

What i want in my case is ONLY :

2 x 480 rads ( http:///kZBfv , got something better ? )
2 x top pump ( something like this with 2 pumps: http:///Dpe6q )
1 x Bay res ( http:///ElDpB )
1 x Res ( http:///YvftM )

Tubing will be : 1/2" ID 3/4" OD

And for GPU i will buy the upcoming gtx 780 , CPU will be Haswell . Like i said previously , i want to convert the 900D from the picture to another setup ( mine ) which will be a single-loop. I really dont know what and how much fittings to buy ( rotary 90 degree /45 degree etc... )

Regards.

For a bay res I would actually go with a combo like the new Monsoon:

or

http://www.performance-pcs.com/cata...=37665&zenid=0f8f48607e0396af1e47f33a52ef846d

One is for the D5 while the other is for the DDC. I prefer the DDC model with a Swiftech MCP35X PMW pump and let the MB control it.

I personally have the Swiftech Maelstrom with dual MCP35X pumps connected to my MB for control. Really comes down to looks and I like the look of a temp display.

If you want more bling then do something like this:

http://www.performance-pcs.com/cata...=36296&zenid=52a7b3a99695b9741687c7f92dd4c57c

http://www.performance-pcs.com/cata...=30775&zenid=52a7b3a99695b9741687c7f92dd4c57c

http://www.performance-pcs.com/cata...=30192&zenid=52a7b3a99695b9741687c7f92dd4c57c

(buy the parts separately and put it together yourself, saves quite a bit)

And then add a bay res like this:

http://www.performance-pcs.com/cata...=32045&zenid=52a7b3a99695b9741687c7f92dd4c57c

That saves space and still has plenty of power for the setup you are describing. A quad and triple rad radiators with Corsair SP fans will be plenty for the system.

The 900D will take quite a bit in it, so don't sweat the rads and pumps. I would stick to one loop, much easier to deal with and won't look crowded. Also, you could jump into using acrylic tubes instead of regular tubing. There is a great guide on overclock.net if you decide too.

Also, as far as fittings go, decide which ones you like, compression or barb, which brand, color etc. They all have their advantages and disadvantages, so figure out which look you like. For each block, you will need a pair. If you do a pump/res combo then two for that, separate pump and res then 4. Two for each rad and you might want a drain port, so then a T-line would be needed. Here is a pic of my old 800D to give you an idea of some of the fittings I used:

Hi , thanks for the reply.

But i think no-one gets what i want to say or i am saying it wrong ;) .I will try to explain it a better way .

I want to use the components I listed a little above. The fittings primarily, because there are plenty and I do not know what I must buy for a single-loop.

Essentially what I want to do is just copy the fittings / extensions / Rotary / Tubing etc ... of his setup and modify it in a single-loop to be mine, with these components:

2 x 480 rads ( http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...EK-CoolStream_RAD_XT_480.html?tl=g57c597s1902 )

2 x Top pump ( http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...Black_Laing_D5_Swiftech_MCP650655655-PWM.html with 2 x http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...Pump_Module_-_PWM_Enabled_Single_Version.html )

1 x Bay Res ( http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...Meter_-_Acetal_Black_CSQ.html?tl=g57c615s1939 )

1 x Res ( www.frozencpu.com/products/17509/ex..._Reservoir_6_Total_Ports.html?tl=g57c615s1940 )

1 x cpu block ( When available )
1 x GPU block ( when available )

Tubing will be : acrylic 1/2" ID 3/4" OD

I think you are going to have to work that one out yourself.
It's too specific a question. You have as good an idea as anyone else if you want it to look like that corsair build. You just have to add up the fittings you see and make some assumptions about the ones you don't.

Maybe ask Jameswalt1 on Overclock.net
What he did was buy a mass (non specific) amount of fittings before he started.
Though that is very expensive.

Without drawing a very detailed 3D (or 2D, if you're good at visualizing) schematic of where you want the acrylic tubes to go, it is impossible to figure out how many of which type of fitting you need to complete a loop. Its taken me at least three weeks over multiple revisions to get mine right. James also did cheat by not bending acrylic tubes, instead using tons of rotary angled adapters which are very expensive.

Each 90 degree is ~$15
Each 45 degree is ~$12

So for every bend you make, your wallet cries a bit more. Of course, you can also invest ~70 in a heat gun and ~20 in a bender, which will save you in the long run.

James bought $ 1500 of fittings , and used only $700 of them as he stated in his thread . I cant see myself buying $1500 of fittings just to try out .But anyway thanks for all the reply i will figure this out by myself.

Regards.
