today i got bored and wanted to turn my external usb compact flash card reader into an "internal" one. i took a spare 5.25" bay cover, and hacked at it with a utility knife until i got a hole in it:

then i took those extra usb ports you get with your motherboard that come on a pci card, and took on off and hooked up my card reader to it:

now i need to get some hot glue or maybe super glue, so i can attach the card reader to the inside of the bay cover. as you can see, however, there are a bunch of chops on the front of the cover...and my cuts are real sloppy, so i don't think i'm going to even end up using this. if i could figure out how to take my reader apart (there are no screws) i'd vinyl dye the parts.

i'm gonna have to agree with you on this one...

of course, you'd say the samy thing about the first blowhole i did, too:D

don't feel bad, at least it is functional... right?

dun feel so bad. i saw a pic where someone took an axe to a side of a case and duct taped a fan outside the hole.

No, no. To be "as ghetto as they come" you wouldn't of used a permanent marker as touch-up and left the beige showing...

But, as rogue_jedi said: at least it is functional

You should line the opening with band-aids to prevent cutting yourself...

i know someone that took his case and shot with with a 12 gague... put some nice holes through it... then he had a fan zip tied to the top of the case over some of the holes..
