I accidently moved my VGA silencer on my 9600, it smelt really bad and has artifacts in the BIOS.

Safe to say its an RMA?

what exactly do you mean you moved the silencer? but yea if you are getting artifacting at the BIOS I think its safe to say something is a little screwed up and its time to go back. if its under warranty you would want to take the silencer off and put the stocker back on, assuming that is that you kept it.

You know you voided the warranty when you put on that silencer right?

-Just a thought

So it was working fine. before you changed it with the silencer?

artifacts in bios = dead card.

however, if you RMA a card that YOU broke, youre a fucking dickhead.

I suggest to reseat the card...I had that problem before and it worked fine after doing so.

yes, but did yours also emit a funny smell? I doubt it, it probably smelled like rotten eggs, and thats what burning silicon smells like. Im pretty sure he just fried it.
