Artifacts after sleep mode?

For two weeks now I have an MSI GTX 560 Ti running in my computer. I usually leave it on all night while it's at idle, i don't think there's much harm in that.

However, I've just decided to adjust the options to put my computer in sleep mode to save power. When I got back home from work, Everything was fine until I started to play a game. There was some huge artifacts going on in my game and the game crashed within 1 minute.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest drivers and reset the computer, none of that worked.

I've decided to actually power off the computer and turn it back on. Now everything works fine again, for how long I don't know.It just started happening all of a sudden. I've monitored my card by using msi afterburner, I saw no sign of overheating or funny readings, it works just like as it should.

Is it possible there's a bug that causes this, could it be the PSU, the video card?

I want to switch video cards to see but I think it would be hard to tell since everything is working fine again. However, if this happens again that will be the first thing I do.

Anyway, I'm just hoping that either the video card is not dying, or I can be sure it is the video card and be able to RMA it without any trouble.
 
bump, well after leaving it on all night without sleep mode, everything is working fine so far, even playing games.

Is it possible this is Sleep Mode bug? Could there be a conflict with this and the latest nvidia drivers?
 
I have had this issue too, especially during the ambiguous crash issues I was having not too long ago.

Long story short I RMA'd my mobo, video card several times, and bought a new PSU that is overkill. I still have this issue to some degree (but rare) and I think it might be similar to the 400/500 series issues some people have with crashed and stuff. Recently I changed my PCIE bus to 103MHz and haven't had a crash yet. Its been about a week, we'll see if it holds.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you could potentially go nuts from this replacing part after part with mfg support techs telling you it must be the other mfg's part and them testing parts you send in and passing with no issue found.

Wow man, sorry you had to go through all that, I had the thought to RMA the card as well. However, since I did a cold boot, everything worked fine, so there had to be something else.

There's a couple of people in the first thread say it happened after they took their computer off from sleep, that's what happened to me. As for the second thread, I'm certain that there's no compatibility issue since I'm running an MSI Nvidia card with an MSI Intel mobo. Unless of course, it's the geforce chipset itself that has problems with MSI mobos.

Well, I don't think there needs to be much to this thread now, you've provided me with plenty of information to put my mind at ease. Thanks a lot!
