I just noticed some interesting results in my home lab.
I have a Cisco Router that has two interfaces (one for inside network, the other for the internet).
I decided to add a Cisco ASA into the mix and set it up the same way I did the router.
By the way both devices are plugged into the same switch.
So here's the interesting part: when I have the computer's gateway set as the interface of router (192.168.1.3), I have no issues connecting to the internet and during this time I am able to ping the ASA's inside interface (192.168.1.1)
As soon as I change my PC's gateway to 192.168.1.1 (ASA's interface), the pings get timed out.
Any idea what might be happening here?
