ARMA versions and mods?

[.oO]

I've been wondering about the differences between ARMA Gold vs ARMA Cold War Assault Remastered, and which is best for mods or total conversions, and for existing maps(?) for single player large battles or ai squad type gameplay....

You can run the original campaigns in ARMA 3 as well, as fan based mods. No idea if ARMA 3 is the better game version for mods though, but there certainly are a lot of mods available for it.

You mean ARMA 2 and 3 are backwards compatible with all mods and maps?

Is anyone familiar with both ARMA Gold vs ARMA Cold War Assault Remastered and the difference between them?

No, I mean't that fans have recreated the original Flashpoint campaings in ARMA 3.

Oh ok, I'm only deciding between those two versions mentioned, but thanks for clarifying.
