Aria or QPack?

Kay, I have done some reading on both cases and it seems that people like the Aria case better. However it could be cause there aren't as many review for the QPack yet.

I did a seach here and couldn't find any topics like this so I think it's safe ;-)

Which case is better? I think the QPack more room but people complain about trying to get everything hooked up. Any thoughts?
 
Qpack, from what I've read the aria has cooling problems. Also, the fuss you have heard about the Qpack were more than likely Mobo problems, than actually problems with the case. The qpack is pretty much the best solution for a SFF. There is also the Silverstone SG01, but you'll pay a hefty premium for that over the qpack. Based on opinions from friends, it's harder to get a good build out of the sg01, than the qpack. My vote's for the qpack.
 
I think the only complaints are just a few things:
  • Can't trust the handle
  • A bit on the flimsy side when unassembled (not a problem when assembled)
  • The PSU is a stinker for higher powered systems
  • Trying to fit a full size PSU in with a full size optical drive. (can be done...there is an entire thread on how to do it...with pics!)
  • believe it or not...but some people don't like the size of it.

Me....I have the all black windowless one and love it. I have a fulll sized PSU in it, but I have two short burners in it instead of a full sized burner. I also switched out the stock fan for a YateLoon. I am also thinking of adding my own hdd rack in to hold two more drives. There is plenty of room to do so.
 
Who likes the ARIA better? Bone stock, if I had the choice right now, I would probably go with the X-QPack. Depends on what you want to do with it.

ARIA I would give the nod to for noise and possibly looks (especially if you spraypaint it all black - $10 to make it look it sweet). Honestly, I think the X-Qpack pushes over the border of small form factor and you lose a little of that tight, neat look, but it is still not bad. ARIA is a downright stupid design and is a PITA to work with. If you install everything and forget about it - great. If you find yourself in your case more than a few times, put in an order for a hammer when you buy the case, because you will want to smash it!

X-Qpack has clear sides if you want to show off your equipment. Space for 2 drive bays. Best of all room to use any heatsink and room to add a new power supply. With the ARIA, you are limited to either the stock heatink or an upgrade like the Zalman 7000. I don't know about you, but I don't move my case around a lot so being flimsy is not a big concern. I get the impression that the handle is not that great and for lanning, you should treat it like a football - hooked in your arm and not something you want to fumble!

Overall, if you like moderate overclocking, slightly lower profile, do fine with one drive bay and somewhat lower noise levels, go ARIA. If you plan on heavy overclocking, go X-Pack.
 
you are llimited in cpu heatsinks with the qpack as well because of the bar going across the cpu. It is bigger than u would expect too, havent worked in an aria but working in the qpack was real easy.
 
The Q-pack was right for me as long as the top is on it cools no prob.


Can someone point me to the thread on how to use a full size optical drive with a standard supply thanks.
 
hey thank you so much for that link. sved me the headache of cutting a hole in my ps. (when in doubt CUT) My Dremel was the best/worst tool I ever got.
