I overclocked my asus radeon 9800 xt by 2/8th and my computer just locked up I set it back to it's original settings and now it isn't even booting.

The fans are running on the card but it's nothing is happening.

I tried to swithc the video card and my good ol 3D Virge worked on it but the asus 9800 xt isn't working.

any ideas on how to fix it?

what does 2/8th mean? Did you do a CMOS clear? Do you have your AGP voltages set higher (or lower) than stock?

Perhaps you let the magic smoke out of your VC. How much did you try and OC it?

Another question, why say 2/8th and not just 1/4th? :)

Do you mean you overclocked a quarter of its total core speed? And like mentioned above, try a cmos reset if its not booting.

Never OC what you can't afford to lose.

Have you tried returning it to the manufacturer? Somewhat unethical, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do...

Dude, why did you try to overlcock it by 1/4 - that's insane without adequate cooling !!

From what I undestand, the 9800XT don't overclock too well anyhow.

1/4 !!!? jesus christ dude, next time you feel the need to throw a card like that in the dumpster, just give it here.... don't do that with it...
