ok, so i'm having some issues.

my goal is/was to reach 3.0ghz on my q6600, but it plain isnt happening. here are the system specs:

q6600 g0 stepping
2gb gskill ddr2 800
intel "bad axe2"
tuniq tower 120
tagan 530 watt psu
bfg8800gt

vcore: 1.4
fsb: 1.3
mch/ich: 1.5
ram voltage: 2.12

i've set the ram to be 1:1, but i cant get any higher than 2.8ghz to even get to bios. i disabled watchdog, and updated to the latest bios to no avail as well. could the power supply be the issue? core temp's readings are ~39c accross the board. what am i doing wrong?

fsb right now is 310, and it would be 333 if i was to hit 3.0

first thing i would do is loosen the memory timings, then drop the cpu multiplier then push up the fsb. I like to keep my memory right at stock speed so I went straight to 400x7. Then screwed around with it until i got 400x8, which is around 1.36, and 400x9 (unstable) at 1.49 or so.

how do i drop the multiplier? it's locked in my bios options..

performance tap/processor overrides/processor multiplier override set from auto to manual and also if your bios is not uptodate, flash it.

You can't drop the multiplier with a BX2, period.

I was able to run my Q6600 with a BX2 before to 3.3 GHz so you need to increase the northbridge voltage to 1.6 and loosen the memory timings.
