Arg! more problems! *crashing + corruption*

This is the second thread on this problem. I've had a problem ever since I built this computer in september. The computer will randomly crash to a blue screen (windows XP pro) and I have a lot of corrupt files.

Today I installed a new mainboard, because I thought it was the source of my problems. I also low-leveled formated the drives. Afterwords it took no less than 10 tries to get windows installed, and I had to fight through many "cannot read/write" errors and more bluescreen errors showing problems with files such as "ntfs.sys" and "win32.dll", along with random address errors like 0x000024 or whatever. Once I got windows installed, I cant even download the smallest driver file off the net without it giving an error that the data is corrupt. It happened to everything I downloaded. Its also not detecting a harddrive.

I've already tested my ram with memtest and it showed it was fine. I've tried an IDE drive, with the same problems. Before the format, half the times I loaded windows it said "bad direct sound driver" and couldnt find my sound card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I now can not use my computer at all.

Also, in the asus utitility that tells you your fan speeds, voltages, and such, here is what it turning up. For some reason my power supply fan isnt reading.

MB temp 28/82 degrees

Faulty power supply, perhaps. If it's not finding the fan then that rings a bell in my mind, at least.

What's the story on the cd or dvd drive you're using to do the install?
Have you tried another drive to do the install?
What power supply U using? Wattage?

I havnt tried another drive, but good idea.

The wattage of the supply is 400w

I took out the SBlive just for shits and giggles and attempted to install the drivers for the onboard sound. I got another blue screen error saying;

"Instructions (something) tried to write to memory 0x000000; the memory could not be "read"."

Just ran memtest again, got different results.

18 passed, while I had 1005850 errors, all appearing to be in channel 1. Looks like my ram is the next thing on the cutting block.

I was going to say RAM as well. I had a similar problem when I had a stick of PC2100 go bad (out of two sticks) and I received a slightly different stick under warranty. Everything tested fine under MemTest86 with the new stick but those two sticks would not play nice together when running apps. Took me umpteen attempts to get XP installed and it would finally work for anywhere from a couple hours to a couple days, then WHAM! BSOD and XP wouldn't boot up. Took forever to find that one. On a lark, I tried it with just one stick and everything ran great for a couple weeks. Added second stick and it screwed up. MemTest showed everything was still good. Swapped the other way around, running on only the other stick and it again worked fine for a couple weeks and screwed up when I put in the other stick (the one I originally ran solo). Bleh.

Silly me for thinking that I would get the correct stuff under warranty. Stupid me for not knowing that there would be trouble between the two.

Yeah I just ordered a set of Crucial 512 sticks from newegg. $20 overnight shipping for a box thats going to be the size of a pop-tart (can you tell im addicted?).

Right now Im testing each strip individually in memtest. So far the first stick is passing with flying colors.
