Other than a few super expensive Lian Li, all the cases out there look atrocious like some geek designed them in the 90s (well, i guess they all are). Aren't there some nice looking cases like ones that rip of mac out there?
 
Not trying to mess up your thread, but I have a Lian Li and it is by far the best case I've ever had.

I would browse the Egg to see if there are any cases that are to your liking.
 
ebay it up man i was just doing this cuz im in need of a case as well theres like 3-4 g5 cases running for about $100 on ebay if you need the link pm me and ill get them to you

dude, I just *JUST* picked up a old generic case (u know, pre-mod times) that have the nice boxy front and the guy I bought it from threw in a Antec 450 watt true power in with it for like $30..... my new mod project, lol! :)
See if anyone around you is sellen one of there old systems or cases so you can mod the heck out of it! :)
 
take pix of it for me :) I love cases that need to be killed in horrible ways
im worken on the generic and a Compaq Presario SR1803WM case too
 
Hexium, I know what you mean. If you guys recall, my house suffered a natural gas explosion back at the end of February (I posted here about how NOT to modify a case). Needless to say, I'm having to replace a few cases that were pretty badly dinged up by the ceiling falling down, etc.

Now I have nothing against LiLi cases, but I'm picky about airflow, and I do sorta have to try to fall within the amount that the insurance company is giving me for the cases that were damaged, or make up the difference myself. On the flip side of that coin, the replacement insurance I have gives you the depreciated value of the items first, then, once you provide a copy of a receipt/invoice to the insurance company, they give you the balance of the replacement value they calculated for the original item (sucks replacing a 19" tube tv, let me tell ya! darn thing cost me $400, back 11 years ago, and can be replaced today for <$100!! :mad: ). So if I get an inexpensive case, like a Rosewill, I'm just ripping myself off by not spending enough! :rolleyes:

Needless to say, since I have 1 year to completely settle the insurance claim, I'm being very picky what I'm getting as replacement items, and generally waiting until I get the best value for the buck. I just picked up an Antec 900 from ClubIT's weekly sale last week, for ~$25 less than anyone else seems to be asking for it. Yeah, I could've gotten one back when CompUSA was offering the great after rebate price, but at that time I didn't need one!

Like Steve Martin said, back in his early days, it's all about the "ancient Chinese art of ty-ming!" :p
 
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the Antec 900 is sweet too!
 
Lian Li PC-7A or PC-7B .. they can be found all day long for $89 bucks! Super clean look, definately NOT cheesy.. ALOT of customizable parts available.
 
i have always like chieftec cases but i cant find any were to get them any more
