I currently have an Areca 1210 4 Port RAID card. (4x750gb Seagates in RAID5) I am outgrowing this setup much faster than I anticipated. I am wondering if I could migrate this to an Areca 1220 or 1230 with my Array intact, or will I have to offload 2tb of data somewhere? Any input is appreciated!

I think all you need to do is buy the new card and plug the drives into it. It should recognize the array and have it working nearly instantly. Not completely sure though as I haven't run out of ports on my 1130ML yet. Check the manual?

The array information is saved both on the controller and the individual drives, so it should be plug and play... same thing with 3ware as far as I know :)
