Areca battery, bad?

Anyone dealt with the battery itself going bad? I've got a couple of different Areca boards and just picked up another BBU. It's the same part number as all my others but when I have it's battery connected to it, and then to the card, the machine won't boot. I've narrowed it down to the battery itself. As in, the board will work just fine when I plug one of my existing batteries into this newer BBU card.

I'm just wondering if anyone has dealt with a battery being bad and hanging the boot process in this manner?
