Areca 1882i

The battery module for this card shows up in the event viewer as removed.
Has done this twice to me in the past week, if I unplug it and reboot then shut
down and plug it back in, it shows up. Have owned the card and battery module
for about 3 weeks. Has anyone else ever encountered this before? Is it the battery module or
the 1882i ? Other than the battery thing this card has worked great thus far.

Technically it could be either. I would suggest replacing the battery module first as it will be less disruptive. Is the battery module new? If it is still under warranty, RMA it.

Yes the battery module is new. Both the card and the module were purchased
about 3 weeks ago. Could it be because I dont leave this machine on 24/7?
The module removed event only shows up after a reboot, and its only done it
twice. It just started this like last week?

I think I'll just send the module back to newegg. I have an UPS so not sure
I reallly need it anyways.....

Well, you should have it. The battery module allows data still in the cache to be stored until it can be properly written to disk and allows a faster and more efficient disk cache to be used. It keeps the data for up to 72 hours, where your battery backup won't last that long (and if not set to properly bring down your system in time could just drop the system)
