Are the windows SMP assignment servers down?

I live in OH and had power failure on Sunday because of Ike high winds. So thankfully my PC just got done a SMP assignment and was 30 min into another. When I started the PC back up the SMP would error out MISSING_WORK_FILES and the, Client-core communications error: ERROR 0x1, so I del the work directory and the queue.dat.

But sense I have not been able to get work.

[14:13:40] + Attempting to get work packet
[14:13:40] - Will indicate memory of 2046 MB
[14:13:40] - Connecting to assignment server
[14:13:40] Connecting to http://assign.stanford.edu:8080/
[14:14:01] - Couldn't send HTTP request to server
[14:14:01] + Could not connect to Assignment Server
[14:14:01] Connecting to http://assign2.stanford.edu:80/
[14:14:01] Posted data.
[14:14:01] Initial: 0000; + No appropriate work server was available; will try a
gain in a bit.
[14:14:01] + Couldn't get work instructions.
[14:14:01] - Attempt #8 to get work failed, and no other work to do.
Waiting before retry.

So are the servers offline or do I have and installation problem?
FYI I can Ping the servers no problem.
Thanks

Shut down the client do a fah –configonly. I haven’t used a win smp for a while because, well, basically they don’t work well. I do recall however that there used to be a setting to use IE settings or not. NO should be the answer to that question under config, in other words you do not want to use IE settings.

That will make that http:// message go away and allow a direct connection to the assignment servers.

I know that as a huge problem in the past, sounds like it might be your problem.

Luck man;)

Wow great Idea thanks,

and Vediovus I am having a problem with just one result from my GPU client but the others are going trow so IDK. Thanks

Yeah I just got one to dump its results, the others not wanting to. It will work itself out eventually.
