Are the FX chips worth it

The price isnt worth unlocked multi's, so imo they arent even remotely worth the price they charge for them. Opterons however, are worth every cent :)

Mine do 3GHz. That is if I wished to run XP 32bit primarily. I don't, I prefer the 64bit version. It feels snapier and my apps run as well or better in it. Reguardless of the clock speed increase. I wish the OC'ing software would be made more compatible with XP x64 Edition.

what do you use in xp-32? i never had a problem with clockgen and the like in xp-64.
 
Ive noticed DVD Shrink has more "digitizing" (making those little squares in the video(bad)) in XP x64...anyone know why that might be?

It was enough after the driver issues to make me revert back to 32 bit.
 
My Opteron on the third boot does 2809Mhz stock voltage, I am letting it stay here for a couple of days let the ceramique cure and go from there.

There are reasons that some say Dont get then there are some that say do get, Im one of the get the FX people. I belive when buying a FX chip as I have had everyone so far from the start you get more then unlocked multi. You get the cream of the crop of Silcon. They OC higher and faster an better. Hell if you plan to leave at stock speeds still NOTHING @ STOCK speeds will touch it. People say get this or that and OC to FX levels but they forget that FX can oc as well if not better and at even higher levels.. In fact FX is only AMD chips to surpass 4 Ghz, The FX55 was first and the FX57 has several people doing it. So Value is all dependant upon what YOU WILL place on it. Not any of us. Now dont get me wrong I love my CABYE 0440 146 Opetron that does 3.1 on H2o and does even higher on Single Phase cooling. Like 3.5.. But my FX57 DID 3.9 Useable..to... I love to game and overclock.. Most the times they are not the same rigs so i have several chips i play with.. It really just depends on like I said what YOU put value on.. But thats my 2c..
