Are Rosewill PSU's good?

they're crap! and NEVER EVER buy a power supply just cause u like "pretty" lights

Thats not the only reason I was going to get it. I was going to get it because I need a new Powersupply, but I want to buy one that has lights. Could someone point me in the direction of a good psu?

and its not so much its a bad supply, i mean the numbers are good. The thing is as Ice Czar will put it - wattages mean nothing; its really the temperature at which they operate. Ex: PC Power and Cooling is rated for 400w at a high temp, while powmax is rated for 400w at say 0C which in a way is impossible.

Just because it has lights is no reason alone to turn away from a particular power supply. Would you refuse this power supply too? There's nothing in the sticky about Rosewill, which IMO does warrant a seperate posting in the Power Supplies forum.

There is a bit of "mystery" about Rosewill components, because there doesn't seem to be any information about the original manufacturer. They're clearly a rebrander, since I doubt any one company could come out of nowhere with seperate product lines of graphics cards, monitors, memory, optical drives, cases, power supplies, keyboards, and mice. (Check their website.)

The most I've heard before is that Rosewill the company is owned / controlled by the same persons as Newegg. This makes some sense, because you don't find Rosewill products anywhere else.

I can't shed any light on who makes the PSU in question though. Anybody else?

You stay away because it's a no-name brand with no proven history.
