I've been looking at 'your freedom' a proxy application, with free servers (with limited rates) and servers that cost a monthly fee.

I've been using the free limited servers to redirect only my torrent trackers, but it has a limited number of streams so I cant connect to many people.. However I could pay and then direct my p2p traffic as well as the tracker info through it.

Of course what I'll be downloading will need to remain descrete so to say..

What are the chances that this will happen? Or is it more likely that they'll be more than happy to release this information to people I don't want to have it..

Thanks =))

First, discussing illegal distribution of software is against the rules. But let's pretend it's porn you own the copy right on, and you don't want your parents ( who are really good internet geeks ) to find out you are passing it out.

It's still possible to find it. The traffic is still streaming from your connection elsewhere, and it's very distinct looking traffic. They may not be able to find you via connecting to your tracker ( depends on how the software works, if it embeds the originator IP address in the data part of the segment ), but anybody ( say your parents get in touch with your ISP looking for funky traffic patterns ) from your ISP will know what you are up to if they look.

for torrents to wok people have to connect to you... your IP will still be there.

sigh alright.. so its really an awful thing to have my credit card number assosciated with. Thanks

you want anonymous torrent traffic pay for vpn service. All the traffic is encrypted and when ppl connect to your torrents all they see is your vpn ip so your real ip is never shown.

Lets put it this way... If someone really wanted to _, they could _.*

and also...

What are the chances that what will happen? You didn't ask a question about anything other than 'Are proxys safe?' To answer that, not really. Depends who runs it, where it is and the laws governing it. *Always helps to re-read what you wrote to make sure your total thought has been written.

To help you avoid a visit from boys in blue or our good friends the RIAA :rolleyes: or worse, kicked from the hard forums... I would suggest telling your 'friends', or whomever, to go to Best Buy or the local porn shop ;)
