Are esata and sata cables the same?

My mybook died and ordered a antec enclosure along with a new drive. It does not come with a esata. Are these the sane as sata cables? Thanks!

Nope, eSAtA cables are slightly different, mostly more robust to deal with the tougher environment they are used in. Physically it won't fit.

the connectors are different, the eSATA cables are also shielded.

some notebooks use a combo esata usb port
